Congrats to our winner Thea Jorgensen who will be heading to Nashville for this special night!

Submitted by her sister, read the story below!

My sister is currently in the ND Army National Guard. She enlisted at 27 years old because she genuinely wanted to serve her country. She has made her name in the state as a well respected Public Affairs Specialist and traveled the world telling the story of our soldiers. She’s been in for 7 years now and doesn’t see herself leaving anytime soon. But it’s what she does outside the Guard that makes her worthy of this trip. Her volunteer resume would take more space than what you want to read but she is actively trying to improve the lives of our veterans through Team Red, White and Blue as the chapter captain and a former Fellow. She also is an ambassador for Vets4Warriors and Veterans Outdoors Adventures ND - both which aim to reduce veteran suicide. She is one of only 4 women on the ND Governors Task Force for Veterans Affairs and is active with our families of the fallen events and TAPS. She is also an advocate, walk chair and presenter for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and mentors a group of 30 girls ages 7-12 through a program called BIO Girls. She’s also the Vice chair for the state suicide coalition. My sister owns her own fitness studio where she says she trains everyone from Vietnam Veterans to the former Miss America and she’s right, but her studio has become a second home, a community to many. She opens her doors to anyone in need and is involved in many more organizations. She says she does all of it to help her manage her depression. She has won a National award as a fitness trainer of the year, 3 national awards for her businesses impact in the community and was selected as for a fellowship through Team RWB. Her service extends from our community to our country.
