Dave Grohl Set to Appear in 50th Anniversary Season of 'Sesame Street'

Is there a rockstar more fitting to make an appearance on Sesame Street than Dave Grohl? Probably not.

The Foo Fighters' frontman is set to visit the iconic show during an episode of its upcoming 50th season. Over the weekend, Elmo muppeteer Ryan Dillon shared an enthusiastic post on Instagram about Grohl's time on set.

“Dave Grohl was incredible. Thanks for playing with us! A great way to wrap up this week’s shoot,” he wrote alongside a photo of an empty set with a TV screen projecting Grohl, Elmo and Big Bird holding up a map of the United States.

Sesame Street producer Aimee Blackton also shared a gushing Instagram post about the grunge rocker. "Well my life is complete now," she captioned a photo of her and Grohl and a photo of Grohl playing guitar and singing. She complemented the sentiment with heart eye emojis.

This won't be Grohl's first trip to the Muppet universe. He also made an appearance on the ABC mockumentary-style series The Muppets in 2015 and a cameo in the 2011 film The Muppets, as a fill-in drummer for The Moopets cover band.

Sesame Street's 50th anniversary season premieres in February 2019 on HBO and runs through December, though details of Grohl's episode have yet to be revealed.
