Tuesday, April 21st:

The Powers Lake High School knows that donors of all blood types are needed constantly to maintain an adequate supply for all patient blood needs. Type O donors are critically needed. Type O is the most relied upon blood type. O-positive is the most frequently occurring in the population and O-negative can help any patient regardless of their blood type. Help support the students and their blood drive. Contact the school at (701) 464-5432 to make your appointment.

Wednesday, April 22nd:

If you are in the Alexander area, come and support the blood drive being hosted by the High School in the gym. First-time donors are needed and the Students would appreciate your support for their lifesaving event. The Tioga Medical Center understands the ongoing need for blood and blood products. If you are in the area, call Lexie at (701) 664-3368 x 9233 to make your lifesaving appointment. This April, during Donate Life Month, Vitalant reminds blood donors that they are vitally important to giving organ transplant patients a second chance at life. o In 2025, there were more than 49,000 organ transplants in the U.S., a record for a fifth straight year.* o Many transplant patients need a blood transfusion during complex, multi-hour procedures, often requiring several units of blood.

The Minot State University Nursing Student Association is hosting the Vitalant Blood Mobile to campus. The bus will be parked north of the Dome for those looking to save a life. The American Lutheran Church in Stanley will play host to the Vitalant Mobile crew today from 12:00 – 6:00. North Dakota’s paddlefish season opens May 1 and is scheduled to continue through May 21. However, depending on the overall harvest, an early in-season closure may occur with a 24-hour notice issued by the state Game and Fish Department.Paddlefish tags are available for purchase online at the Game and Fish website, gf.nd.gov.

Thursday, May 7th is National Day of Pray and your invited to stop by the Minot City Auditorium in the Armory for a full day of learning, practicing, and experiencing prayer together - and everyone is welcome.

Throughout the day you'll have the opportunity to:

- Prayer Walk (5:30 AM) — Learn what prayer walking is and step out to cover your city, family, and friends in prayer. This event will gather at Dakota Square Mall

- Prayer Launch (7:00 AM) — Hear an inspiring teaching and pray together over the seven areas of life that shape our community

- Intercessory Prayer (12:00 PM) — Learn how to pray for others, with a special focus on our schools, students, and the next generation

- Prayer Panel (6:30 PM) — An evening of worship, teaching on family prayer, and an honest Q&A conversation with local pastors about what everyday prayer really looks like

- Prayer Stations (All Day) — Drop in anytime to explore self-guided, interactive prayer experiences at your own pace

The Minot Park District will host a community informational event on May 20, 2026, from 5:30pm –7:30pm at Oak Park. This open-house style event is designed to give residents an opportunity to learn more about the proposed sales tax initiative and the future of Minot’s parks, trails, and facilities. Community members are encouraged to stop by at any time during the event to review plans up close and have one-on-one conversations with Minot Park District board members and staff.

The Minot Rural Fire Department will be hosting the Minot Area Youth Fire Camp, June 26th thru June 27th open to ages 14 to 18. Camp features, basic EMS & CPR training, basic search and rescue training, live fire props, fireground operations, rope rescue exposure and more.
