Kyle Dean was born in Minot, North Dakota and raised in the little town of Norwich, North Dakota. He graduated from Surrey High School in Surrey, North Dakota and was active in school activities. He played football, plus was involved in band, choir, and drama. He enjoys the North Dakota Class 'B' sports scene since he grew up with it. When not playing sports, Kyle was the kid that dressed up in his school colors to cheer on his high school team.
Kyle attended Minot State University graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor Degree in Broadcasting. He worked at Clear Channel Radio (now iHeartMedia) in Minot. Hired on while in high school in December of 2008, he worked almost 5 years doing various activities; DJing, newscasts, and interviews on 910 AM KCJB, and also did weekends on 97 Kicks FM. When Clear Channel needed a part-time sports play-by-play person, Kyle jumped at the opportunity back in 2011.
After college, Kyle worked at “The Mix” 1470 AM KHND in Harvey, North Dakota as the Sports Director from August 2013 thru February 2015 and covered all the Harvey-Wells County, Drake/Anamoose, and Benson County sports. He also helped out with production, sales, and had an afternoon on-air radio shift.
Kyle's next stop in radio was in Jamestown, North Dakota where he was the Sports Director for MIX 93.3 FM and AM 600 KSJB from March 2015 thru December 2016. He also hosted the morning show on MIX 93.3 and later the afternoon show on AM 600 KSJB.
Once Kyle and his wife had their first child, they moved back home to Minot to be close to family. Kyle took a break from radio working as an Admissions Counselor at his alma mater, Minot State. While working at Minot State from January 2017 to April 2019, he traveled around the United States and Canada recruiting students for Minot State.
Kyle married his love of his live, Kelsey, in June 2014. They have one son, plus a cat named Kooper. Kyle enjoys watching the Chicago Bears, playing video games, and riding motorcycle. He has received awards from his broadcasting including merit and first place Eric Sevareid awards for play-by-play.
