Honey Boo Boo has been on camera since she was a little girl in pageants, to watching her Mother's weight transformation on "From Not To Hot". Now at 17, she's on her own weight loss journey.
Alana Thompson is currently being raised by her older sister "Pumpkin" because her Mother, Mama June, has struggled with addiction and bad boyfriend choices. The entire family has dealt with many serious struggles and scandals, but it seems Honey Boo Boo is on a search to find herself and potentially try living a healthier lifestyle.
Alana’s manager Gina Rodriguez told TMZ that the reality star is having surgery to have a sleeve put in place that will help lose weight and eat less. Next month is Alana's 17th birthday and her doctor Steven Batash will being doing the procedure in Queens, New York just weeks after.
Her guardian "Pumpkin" has signed off on it and her boyfriend Dralin Carswell is doing the procedure with her, so they can go through the experience together.
The surgery is going to set her back about $13k but could be life saving for the teen who is over 250lbs currently. She hopes to lose about 150lbs total.
I'm sure TLC is salivating at the chance to film the entire thing and make it a spectacle.
